I was reading Decor8 recently and noticed this fantastic photo showcasing the talents of interior designer Pippa Jameson. I love the natural shutters against the white walls and wooden floor. I am also in love with the Ercol 2 seat sofa with in-keeping mid-century print cushions. That arm chair in the corner looks very similar to the Bailey sofa from John Lewis which we have selected for out new house, so at least half way there!

More Knobs from Bombay Duck

I'm still on the hunt for the perfect knobs for the upcycling of an old pine chest of drawers I have in the spare bedroom. I found some great one's on Bombay Duck, with designs including Black and White Humbug stripes, clock faces and ceramic flowers there are plenty to choose from. I'm particularly looking for something with a monochromatic palette so below are a few of my favourites.

'Changing Guards at Buckingham Palace' Wallpaper

I was flicking through Living Etc and noticed this fab 'Changing Guards at Buckingham Palace' Wallpaper. It's available in two colourways Spring and Autumn Gold shown below.

Inspired by a A. A. Milnes poem, Changing Guards is a whimsical scene of The Royal Guards marching in front of Her Majesty's palace wearing the distinctive red and black uniform and busby hats.

The spring versions would look great in a little boy's bedroom.

I Think We Have A Winner!

After lots of searching around pretty much every sofa retailer in the UK, I think we may have found the one! We happened to go into John Lewis with my mum and a style we had originally dismissed suddenly looked quite appealing. The reason we had initially ignored the Bailey was that it looked too low in the seat height, but my husband tried it and said it was really comfortable. Another bonus is it also comes with removable covers. Even better John Lewis' sale starts in a couple of weeks and I'm hoping it'll have at least 30% off which means we could also get the snuggler sofa which was really cosy and looked particularly good in this Lorton Ebony Tree Pattern Fabric by Villa Nova. I can't actually believe we may have found a sofa that fits both out requirements stylish yet comfortable!

Peony Fabulous Faux Flowers

Now if you are anything like me you love having fresh flowers in the house, especially at this time of year, but it can add up. One way of cutting the cost is by using faux flowers from Peony. They have wonderfully realistic stems of everything from Anemones to Sweet Peas. Now they're not cheap but if you add up how much you spend of flowers each year, they soon seem that much more of a good buy.

My favourite arrangement is this fantastic Anemone posy.

This mix of Scabious, Sweet Peas and Bluebells is also very pretty and amazingly realistic. They seem to have got that just picked look down to a tee.

I'm also a big fan of Orchids, but for some reason always seem to manage to kill them. Problem solved with these single stem and potted versions.

The vivid colours of these Sweet Peas remind me of my Grandma's garden, she was a big fan of growing these wonderfully meadow like flowers.
These blousey Pink Peonies are also gorgeous.

Willow & Stone

If you're doing up a period home and are in need of some inspiration look no further than Willow & Stone. They sell everything from door knobs, outdoor lighting to traditional ironmongery. I love the antique bottles especially the Blue Poison ones below.

Their lighting section has a wonderful array of pendant style lights for indoors and out.

They also have a fantastic print section, this love birds print is a favourite of mine.
