I've no idea why I haven't been here before as I always new TKMaxx were pretty good for kitchenware but there dedicated homewares stores HomeSense are fantastic. As Ellie from HomeShoppingSpy writes you can find everything from Moroccan lanterns and pouffes to cashmere throws and vintage treasures. Check out their blog for inspiration and a little hint of what they stock.

I love this chair and it actually looks really comfy, the aqua looks great next to the zesty greenery.

I've been looking for ages for some plan drawers like the ones on the top right of the pic below. I think another trip to the Cambridge store is needed to check out the vintage finds.

Canapé Flags from Talking Tables

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend? Had loads of fun yesterday at Twickenham watching the England v Scotland 6 nations match. It was my first taste of a live match and even though it wasn't the most exciting of games it was great to be there and soak up the atmosphere, there was even a fox on the pitch who was very entertaining. On Saturday I was pottering around town and popped into Paperchase, I love just looking around especially if I'm in need of some inspiration. I spotted these very pretty canapé flags by Talking Tables and just had to buy them, I thought I could put them in the cupcakes my friend is making for my birthday party on Saturday.

I started to look into other products they did and found these food flags with some shaped like lovely teacups. A fantastic flat packed cake stand in vintage colours and patterns as well as Chintzy bunting. All of these products would be perfect for holding a very English tea party.

Bottle Green Homes

While I was reading the April issue of Living Etc I saw these wonderful vintage bottles as part of their 'decorating with Indigo' article. They are available from the online boutique Bottle Green Homes, along with many other lovely and quirky British made home products. They also have a seriously cute blog about Jackson the mini wire-haired Dachshund and his life about town.

They sell everything from Vintage Soda Syphons and Dartington Vases to Milk bottles. 

I particularly like this large vintage green soda bottle. It would look really pretty in a drinks cabinet (not that many people have them nowadays, but we can but dream!)

I love this sandcastle pot, it's so nostalgic. It would look great storing brightly coloured fruit.

This Britannia China inspired as a celebration of the British ceramic industry in Staffordshire is created by Repeat Repeat.

Vintage Storage

I was flicking through a Pedlars catalogue last night and it got me thinking about Vintage Storage. I love the idea of having some long slim drawer units with industrial handles, the kind you would find in an old museum or library. Pedlars happen to have a vintage selection on their website which includes these two fantastic industrial drawer units. They would both look great in a hallway, and just think of all the extra space to hide things away!

They also have these old American Vintage Shoe Factory Template Storage Boxes, which could make great In trays or even just somewhere to put your post.

The Old Cinema, a vintage/retro antiques shop based on Chiswick High Road in London, also has a selection of drawer units. The one below was an old Haberdasher Cabinet, I've previously seen these used in homes as an alternative to a chest of drawers or even as shoe storage. The advantage of using it for shoes would be you can double it up as a display cabinet, making a piece of art out of the everyday!

Top Drawer

Just wanted to make a quick post about Top Drawer which I visited on Tuesday. I will give a more detailed post tomorrow but wanted to share this wonderful vintage ice cream van that they had in the Trends Area. How pretty is that!

Vintage Glass Cake Stands

This year I will be hosting my husband's and my family on Boxing day for a festive buffet. So I am in the process of thinking how to display the tasty treats to their best, especially my home-made truffles and mince pies. I thought maybe a few vintage glass cake stands would look very pretty. These shown below are available from Re-found Objects.

I've also found them on Notonthehighstreet but they are quite expensive, especially if I need a few.

These stands would look lovely on a plain white table cloth with a few sprigs of holly and eucalyptus scattered around, possibly some candles to make the cut glass twinkle and some lovely vintage white serving platters. I think I need to get scouting round the charity and secondhand shops this weekend!

Vintage Inspired Mirrors from Next Home

I currently have a bit of a thing for Vintage Art Deco inspired mirrors. My collection is up to 5  at the moment and still growing. At some point I would like to make a wall of different shaped mirrors. I recently saw these lovely mirrors in an advert for Next Home. This set of three Charleston mirrors is only £65 and look great all together on a wall as the picture below. Yet another thing to add to my wish list.
